Word Circle Cross by Big T
Word Circle with a crossword twist.
The same letter circle, but the answers land in a crossword grid instead of a list. The empty grid tells you how long every answer is and where they cross before you touch a letter — which turns slot length into something you can solve with.
What the game is
A ring of letters sits under a crossword grid. Drag through the circle to spell a word; if it is an answer in the grid, it fills in, crossings and all. Every answer is built from the same set of circle letters.
Reading the grid before you touch the circle is the whole technique. The empty grid already shows every answer length and every crossing, so a word that fits nothing is not a target word — the slot lengths filter your guesses for you.
As in Word Circle, valid words that are not answers still score and still earn hint tokens.
How you play it
- Building a word
- Drag through the letters in the circle, then release.
- Read the grid first
- Answer lengths and crossing positions are visible before you start, and they narrow what is worth trying.
- Shuffle
- Rearranges the circle when a set of letters stops suggesting anything.
- Hint tokens
- Reveal Random, Reveal Choice and Mega Reveal — earned by solving puzzles and finding bonus words.
What the four difficulties actually mean
One more letter each step.
The same ladder as Word Circle, and the bonus pool explodes even harder here, because the grid constrains the target words while the circle does not constrain the bonuses: about 4 bonus words are available at Easy, against roughly 80 at Expert.
What is free, and what is not
Two hundred puzzles to start — fifty in each of the four difficulties.
Extra puzzles come as packs, sold one at a time. There is no bundle you
have to buy to get a fair deal, no "unlock everything" upsell, and no
subscription — you buy the pack you want and nothing else.
Purchases are tied to the account you sign in with, so they survive a
reinstall or a new device. Prices are US dollars; your local store will
show its own.
Comfort and accessibility
- Themes — light and dark, plus a choice of colour themes.
- The timer can be hidden. If a clock on screen changes how a puzzle feels, turn it off.
- Portrait on a phone, landscape on a bigger screen. The grid needs the height, so on a phone it stays upright rather than being squeezed into a letterbox. On a tablet or an unfolded foldable it rotates and gains a side-by-side layout. Either way you can move the controls above the board, or put them under your dominant hand on a wide screen.
- Tablets and foldables get their own layouts rather than a stretched phone one.
- Nothing is on a clock. No energy meter, no countdown, no push
notification asking you to come back.
Your stats keep a day streak, and a long one earns a bonus hint — but nothing else is gated on it, and nothing you already own expires while you are away.
